------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the digital world, roughly 16 years after the overthrow of what was presumed to be the Dark Master (only 3 days have passed in the real world): Uryx was just finishing a book he had been writing with a chapter he aptly named "The Final Confrontation." He had been writing this book for a few years now when he had some free time (which wasn't often considering he had to support a wife and twin daughters), this book detailing the exploits of the most recent team of digidestined to save the digital world (a team he had been leader of, and his wife a vital member, at least to him). As he finished the book with an allusion to his daughters, Kitty & Uryxia, and the new caretaker of Primary Village, a Lekismon he himself had named Ryoko, he wondered what the title should be. After some thought, Uryx titled the book "Digital Chaos," then he put his pen down and stretched a little. -Speaking of Kitty & Uryxia,- Uryx thought, -where have those two gotten off to now?- Living in the digital world, there are always adventures to be had, and for as long as he can remember, his daughters would never just hang around the house for too long, especially once they reached adolescence and Uryx & Catherine had gifted the twins with their ancient spirits of steel (to Uryxia) & light (to Kitty) respectively. Little did Uryx know that a new evil was forming and that the portals between the digital world and the real world we reopening, or that Kitty and Uryxia had stumbled upon one of these portals and decided to investigate. In the real world, 3 and a half days after the digidestined brought peace to the digital world (leaving Uryx & Catherine behind to finish the job), two girls that had never been seen around before were walking around the labyrinthine halls of the school the digidestined attended. Aside from the way they styled their hair (one keeping it relatively short and in choppy layers, and the other having it in a long pony-tail) and their expressions (one full of excitement that comes from a new discovery, and other keeping a somewhat bored looking expression, despite being as intrigued as the girl next to her), they were completely identical.
Catherine Randal stands by the sink, doing the dishes. It's a mindless, menial task, she's well aware, but the forced settling down has steadied her nerves somewhat. The past sixteen years have only served to dull her senses - her domestication, while forced, had been almost total. Her identity of Catherine Randal, adventurer and fighter, has been completely replaced by Mrs. Catherine Randal, housewife. That isn't to say, though, that she's utterly lost her sense of humor about things - infact, the Wingdramon outside the kitchen's window is pleading with her to not give him the silent treatment - something she had taken up because the last protein he'd brought her to cook still had a face on it. So as he banters on, she's considering what to do about their garden - keeping the family fed was an adult issue. And though it often seemed so hard to think, she'd been an adult since her eyes had flashed open, all those years ago, and she'd been informed that she was pregnant. -Responsibility makes you grow up the hard way,- she quips at herself mentally. Meanwhile, in a world considered real and human, Kitty Randal turns to her sister with a wicked grin marring her face. "Are you making a mental map, Urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryxia?" She inquires impishly, drawling out the "r" in her twin's name. "I have no idea where we are. But it's amaaaazing that we're in a world of...." she gestures all around, lost for words, "...stuff! Imagine how much work it'd take Dad to get the money to buy the materials for something this coooooooool!"
Jonas awoke a few days later in his bedroom of his home. He hadn't seen or heard from his mother in months, and so he decided it was high time he visit her. She was thrilled, and showed him she hadn't touched anything in his room at all. As always, Leormon had slept at the foot of his bed, protectively. "Can't believe it's all over..." he said in thought. He then remembered Uryx and Catherine. "And... they stayed behind...." he sighed.
Uryxia looks over at her sister, -How is it we're the same age but she seems SO much younger than me?- "I dunno, about a year's worth?" she suggested, knowing full well it would take MUCH longer than that.
Kitty's eyes twinkle with glee as she examines a row of lockers. "What do you think these are for, Uryxia? I bet they're for weapons!" She strikes a heroic pose in the middle of the hallway, as though she was her mother, and armed with her sword. "I bet all the people here are students of swordplay! And poetry. D'you think this is where mom and dad went? It seems so unlike them..." She winces, then, her mind thrown back to her parents. "I bet they're worryin' about us, Urrie."
Squall stood in the campus Gym, Griever standing next to him in his sunmon form. The large young man began to wail on a punching bag and soon it burst open. -Man, I'm tense. I wonder how my friends are doing. They still haven't come back...-
"Let them worry," Uryxia replies, "We haven't been gone that long, remember that one time, we were gone for days? This is nothing." Uryxia looks at the lockers, -hmm, weapons... I wonder what kind of place this is, could it really be where mom and dad are from?- Uryx had told the twins all about the real world when they were younger, Uryxia was a little skeptical at the time of the thought of a parallel world, but it was hard to argue now that they'd actually gone through a portal just like the kind her father had described.
Jonas reluctantly got out of bed, and after he got ready, he left the room with Leormon. Even though he wasn't going to go any classes that day, he decided to go to school, to see if any of the other digidestines were there. When he finally convinced his mother that he would come back soon, he headed to the school.
"Well, you know how mom is. The drop of a hat has her making elaborate plans on what to do with that hat," Kitty responds. "Not that she'd ever own a hat. I don't think Dad could afford to buy her one." She ran her finger across her lips, pausing at the slight cleft. She then stroked it aside with a move of her arm, smashing it into the locker with a resounding bang! that echoed through the hallways. The locker, at the force of the blow, shuddered open, and a pile of papers, as well as books and a bookbag, flowed into the hallway. "I wonder if they whack each other with these?" Kitty speculates, picking up a heavy (13.5 pounds) book labeled 'Art History'.
Uryxia picks up some of the papers and looks at them closely. She could read to a certain extent, having at one time been curious about the story that her father had been writing off and on for the longest time. "Hmm... I don't think so, Kitty, I think this may be a building of scholars, not warriors," she says to Kitty, "These things are just like that stuff that dad's been working with, remember? But I can't understand these runes..." She looked at the messy algebra homework carefully before tossing it behind her, "Whatever,"
"So you're the two girls who've been messing with the lockers?" a guy with long brown hair (a.k.a. Jim) asked as he walked over, a girl standing next to him, "I could hear that on the other side of the school practically," he told them.
Kitty shrugs her shoulders back as she opens the Art History text, then marvels at something helpfully labeled as 'The Swing'. "LOOK! That man is looking up that woman's skirt. Why would anyone depict something so bawdy?" She turns to book to show it off to Uryxia, utterly ignoring Jim's appearance. The bright, glossy photographs on the page were too awesome!
As Jonas walked to school, he began thinking of all the times he and the team had in the real world. ~I should have helped more...~ he said in thought. He thought of Lisa, and how he would barely see her anymore. ~Didn't even get to tell her how I feel...~ he continued, drifting off in thought. He ended up almost walking into traffic, but Leormon pulled him back onto the sidewalk.
'Must be deaf or something, eh, as long as they get in trouble and not me, I'm fine,' Jim thought as he leaned against a locker, not the one the two girls practically destroyed, "So are you busy today?" he asked the girl standing next to him, and all she did was nod.
Uryxia glances at the page Kitty had indicated, she found it fascinating, but this new face could be a threat, and until they knew, it was important not to ignore him. "What of it?" Uryxia asks Jim, reaching into her pocket and grasping her digivice, "Who are you, anyway?"
"The fact is you two will get chewed out half to death. And I'm Jim, this girl next to me is Danielle," he told the two, continuing to lean against the locker as the girl smiled to the two.
Squall, still carrying the sunmon, finally arrives. He sees the damaged locker and looks to the two obvious twins. "Ya know, you didn't have to destroy that to open it," says Squall.
Kitty had abruptly become silent as Uryxia began talking. She possesed the ability to be stoical at times, and, when her sister was confronting others, that shone through. Then, however, she sees the sunmon in Squall's hand, and lightly kicks the side of her sister's leg with her foot. "Looooooook," she whispers, softly.
Jonas finally reaches the school, and goes inside. Leormon jumps up onto his back, and popped his head up and above his shoulder. Jonas smiled at him, and walked towards the group, and saw the group. Leormon's jaw dropped. "They look like Uryx and-" Jonas put his hand over his mouth and nodded. "I know @_@"
-This is looking bad, if they're not friendly then we're outnumbered...- Uryxia thinks, eying the new arrival warily -Just going to have to be careful...- At that time, Kitty had indicated the Sunmon and her naturally curious nature took over, -I've never seen that kind of digimon before,- "Jim and Danielle," she repeats, memorizing their names and faces, "and you are?" she asks Squall, not losing the bored tone her voice always seemed to take.
"My name's Squall," the burly man replies,"May I ask who you two are?"
-Didn't Dad say something about how they didn't normally have Digimon?- Kitty manages to think before she hears 'Squall'. She abruptly gasps, and kicks her sister again. Harder. "He's Squall!" She crows. "But why isn't he old?! Does he have OLD MAN POWERS?!" She turns her bright blue eyes to look, quizically, at Squall.
Jonas walked closer and recognized Squall, obviously, but didn't say anything. He didn't want to interupt them.
-Old man power?- thought Squall confused. "Do you know me?"
Uryxia was a little puzzled by this too, if this really was the Squall her father had talked about why WASN'T he older than he looked? "I'm Uryxia," Uryxia says introducing herself, "and this is my sister, Kitty. Now that introductions are out of the way, are you hostile?" -It's probably just a different Squall.-
"I don't know you at all!" Kitty says, looking quite pleased with herself. "I've heard about someone with your name, though. And it's fun to say." She was getting dreadfully bored with the conversation already. -Hostile. My sister always uses the most interesting language.- She recalls, briefly, how their parents met - 'Friend or foe?'. Only the smallest smile creeps across her lips as she thinks that, but she clasps her arms behind her back dutifully, standing beside her twin - her hands caressing the digivice in her back pocket - although nobody'd ever guess.
'What's she talking about now? I mean really, this whole "Old man powers" thing makes no sense,' he thought as he continued to lean against the locker.
"Uryxia? That's a unique name..." said Squall, begining to put things together. The two did have a resembleance to Uryx...but thats impossible. -Might as well make sure- "Would you know of an Uryx?"
Leormon suddenly blurted, "I KNEW IT! I'M NOT CRAZY! YOU'RE RELATED TO URYX! AND CATHERINE TO PROBABLY!" Jonas gasped, and covered Leormon's mouth up with his hand. "Leormon! >.<" he told him stepping back. He looked to the group, and his sweat dropped.
Uryxia's expression changed with this into a slightly more hostile one, surprisingly enough, she didn't hear Leormon's outburst, "How do you know of our father?!" she asks, now deeming them as very possible threats.
Jonas sighed, seeing that Uryxia hadn't heard his loud-mouth of a digimon. He hoped no one else heard him as well.
Jim's eyes went wide, 'Wow, so those two are related to Uryx, but... wait a second... Holy hell! How come they're almost the same age as him!?' he thought, and both him and Danielle hadn't heard Leormon as well.
"Uryxia," Kitty says, now businesslike, "we should go. They're probably not friends of Mom and Dad's, and, well..." She glances around the lockers, the air vents, and everything. "We're in unfamiliar territory. I say we make a break for it!" Her mind is afire with the idea of her and her sister running down the hall while everyone chases them. Easily beaten, she thinks smugly. You don't grow up in the Digital World without knowing a few tricks.
Uryxia agrees with her sister's idea and nods, still eying the others carefully, in case a battle WAS imminent.
"You ARE Uryx's children! AND Catherine's!" exclaims Squall. He had heard the loud digimon."Are they ok? What happened to them? Is the Digital World safe?"
Kitty stops in her tracks, now grabbing her sister's wrist. "Um. Dad works a lot, I guess, and Mom stays at home?" She asks as she begins to attempt to drag Uryxia back towards the portal's location. "And if the digital world wasn't safe, would we even be alive? Of course they won. They're, like, heroes. Duuuuuh."
Leormon jumped out of his hands, and ran to them. "Wait! Can't you stay and play!?" he asked, laughing. Jonas simply stared at him as he bounded over to them. "You don't have to go yet! ._." Leormon finished.
Uryxia nods and runs with her twin, "You know dad doesn't like it when you refer to him as a hero," she says on the trip.
"Hold on...How are you here?" says Squall. The man begins running after the duo.
'This is a shock, last I saw, they weren't exactly the best of friends,' he thought, "So what's even happening?" Danielle asked, "Its complicated," he said and she nodded.
"I know," Kitty replies seriously, flicking her identical gaze back to Uryxia's. "But everyone in the Digital World calls them that, even if they both reject it and demand to do things the hard way. They're probably just being modest, as Dave says!" She thinks back to the happy mayor. Dave's cool, she decides, and then thinks about how she can manuever her sister over to Lilymoon sometime.
Uryxia, still running, shudders a little at the mention of Dave, she'd only met him once, but that was MORE than enough for her. How could anyone be THAT happy ALL THE TIME?! She decided never to go to Lilymoon again, just to avoid that guy.
Squall continues chasing the twins and, with his powerful legs, slowly catches up to them.
"There's the portal!" Kitty says finally, glancing behind at their pursuers. The whole lot of them. "Gogogogogo!" She pushes her sister towards it, and twirls around to confront Squall. "Get back!" She says, picking up a mechanical pencil and waving it menacingly.
That's when he noticed it. The portal. -That's how they got here...- Squall thinks as he pulls out his own digivice.
Uryxia falls through the portal and back into the digital world, -DAMN IT, KITTY!- she curses mentally. She doesn't go back for her sister, -She can handle this for herself...- She crosses her arm, turns to face the portal back to the real world, sits, and waits.
"No!" Kitty exclaims, lunging forward with the mechanical pencil, unfortunately holding the button down. The lead proceeds to fly out, towards Squall. "Your slugthrower guns here suck!" She exclaims, looking at the lead rolling around on the floor. She does, however, continue her lunge, aiming to stab (or, rather, poke) Squall with the pencil. "Die, fiend!"
Squall sees the makeshift 'weapon' and snaps it in his grasp. He then proceeds to gently grab the scruff of the young girl's shirt and walks towards the portal.
"Ow! Hey! Let go of me!" Kitty growls as she's grabbed, looking at her trusty, broken weapon. -It served me well,- she thinks, sadly. She then ammends that - it didn't, considering how she's being dragged to the portal. "Please stop? Uryx'll be pissed, and he'll probably kill you with his, um, how does he say it? 1337 HAX!"
-She's right. He probably will kill me...all well- thinks Squall as he walks through to the Digital World.
Kitty is dragged through the portal after squall, kicking and screaming. -Uryxia'll be pissed, too. Human weapons suck.-
Uryxia sees Squall emerge through the portal with Kitty and forgets about Kitty pushing her through for the time being, "Put my sister down, NOW!" Uryxia said with the same commanding tone her father uses on occasion as she readied her digivice, -definitely no good.-
"Sorry," says Squall as he emerges and lets go of the flailing girl. "You shouldn't stab people with pencils though." he states directing the remark to Kitty.
Kitty allowed her body to go semi-limp as she hears her sister's voice. She then reflects on her options - the portal had opened up somewhat relatively near their house, which was located in the Forest. There were trees all around they could use as cover to fly through, but the possibility of this nasty man following them was too high. -What would Mom and Dad do?- She wonders, then shudders. -Dad'd probably kill him with his book and Mom would offer to bake him biscuits!- This leads to her blurting out a deranged threat in reply to Squall: "I'll kill you with a biscuit!"
Uryxia gives her sister an odd look before looking at Squall, her blue eyes seeming to look THROUGH him rather than at him. "Return to where you came from," Uryxia continues to use the commanding tone, "You couldn't be the same Squall our father talked about, picking on two helpless (she doesn't really find her sister or herself helpless at all, just rhetoric) girls."
"A...a biscuit?" declared Squall, completely perplexed. The man then imagined the girls attempt to slay him with baked bread. He hears the other twin's exclamation. "I'm hardly picking on you. I'm simply worried about your...um...parents."
Kitty falls silent again, then agrees with her sister as she pulls herself standing. 'We've got him surrounded,' she mouths to her sister, then inclines her head forward so her wild hair falls around her face, framing a wicked grin. "Yeah. They didn't say Squall was a bully. You're not welcome here. And if you don't take it from us, you'll take it from those parents. You probably just think they're helpless, and you can hurt them!" -Well, they are somewhat helpless. Except for Wingdramon,- Kitty reflects after talking. She'd always wondered how Uryx and Catherine had bared to part with their spirits. Although god knows Catherine had fought tooth and claw for her Digivice, telling Kitty to go 'Find your own damn digivice. Rather, it'll find you.'
Uryxia doesn't motion that she had noticed what Kitty had said, although she had and understood perfectly. She waited for the large man to make a move, what he did next would determine their next action. When he shouts however, it wasn't at all what she was expecting, -he WANTS them to come here?! Maybe I misjudged him, he's probably more powerful than he lets on, he DID have a digivice...-
Jonas ran in through the portal after them, with Leormon leading the way. Leormon laughed as he rolled around on his back on the other side. "The digital world! Yey!" Jonas looked around, and said, "Hm... hasn't changed much..."
Uryxia simultaneously moves to push him back through the portal, not noticing that Jonas and Leormon were now in the way.
Jonas stepped to the side to avoid Uryxia. "I got a feeling she doesn't want us here..." he told Leormon.
Squall is knocked unconcious by the blow to the neck, suprisingly. However he topples over the rushing Uryxia.
Kitty relaxes slightly, even as Uryxia is toppled on - if her parents wanted to come, chances are they'd be there by now. "Everybody out!" She roars, suddenly, her own voice as commanding as her sister's - she's suddenly painfully serious. "You're not welcome here! Get out, all of you! Urrie, push 'im through the portal!"
Uryxia, possessing a great deal of strength that comes with living in the digital world, pushes the unconscious Squall off of her and back through the portal with a grunt (lifting with her legs). Then she moves to push Jonas back.
Leormon got in front of him, and growled at her. Jonas sighed, and picked up Leormon. "It's okay buddy." he stepped back towards the portal. "I know we don't belong here. Sorry I came. Tell your father Jonas says hi.. and tell him... That we'll see eachother soon..." and with that, we headed trhough the portal.
"We're going to have to tell mom and dad," is the first thing Kitty says to her sister. "If we don't, we'll get in -more- trouble when they come back. Do you want to go back home, or should it be me?"
Squall's unceramonious topple shifted his mind back to the waking world. With a start he realized where he was. As he sees Jonas he questions, "What happened?"
"You were knocked out, and pushed back into the real world. I went with you." he told him.
Digivolution's a funny thing. After horrendously breaking his leg, Wardramon was certain he would have busted legs as both Jex and Deedramon, but no. It has a certain healing property. At least, that's how Jex reasoned it away when he thought about it that day. Three days later, with the events of the past barely beginning to wear off, however, it began to seem as if the Digital World would never leave him alone. Jex's new Digivice begins to beep. "Hm..?" Jex hums as he checks it. Something he had never hoped to see again...a Bio-Emergence alert.
-I don't like the way that sounded, I think he may be planning to return. We should have a digimon set up to guard this portal.- She then turns to her sister and pushes her over (not through the portal, despite it being VERY tempting), "That's for pushing me earlier," says Uryxia, back to her bored tone of voice, "and I'll go." And she turns to head back to their house.
Kitty accepts the push, and glances over her shoulder as she does a part-push-up part-leap to her feet. "Alright. If they come through, I'll kick their asses." She waves to her sister, pulling out her gray digivice and twirling it boredly in her hands. -If I've got the attention span to not wander off! Joke'll be on her. That reminds me - I've got to plan a prank for next week. I hope Mom won't mind me grabbing some of the foods next time we're all at home...-
Jonas' digivice began beeping. His jaw dropped. "Oh no! Not again!" he said. Leormon growled a bit, going into battle mode. (like when guilmon senses a digimon)
"What's up?" says Squall ignoring his own beeping digivice. The man had never experienced the event before.
"A digimon's coming!" he told him, running down the hall.
Being on the wrong side of the two worlds to get the signal, Uryxia continues to the house, she opens the door and looks around, "Uh, mom, dad?" and she walks inside, closing the door carefully behind her.
-A digimon? here?- Squall runs after Jonas, Griever digivolveing to his rookie as they went.
Catherine's in the kitchen, her usual hangout, but she proceeds from it anyway, her blue eyes resting on that of her daughter's. "Uryxia?" She asks, with a tone of consternation - the twins were almost always together, and they didn't just come home unless for good reason. Her first impulse was to retreat to the cellar, where she kept all of her old gear under lock and key, but she restrained herself. "What're you doing home? Where's your sister?"
The two bursted out of the doors of the school to see a foggy cloud not far away. "There it is! The digital field!" He said, as they ran towards it.
Jex gets up quickly. Thank God it was a half day at school... "Badramon, Realize!" Badramon pops out of the Digivice in a white glow. "I smell'im, Jex. What's the plan?"
Squall and Griever stand ready, in the cloud, waiting for the digimon to reveal it's self.
"Well, it's safe to assume the others are there, too, so, the plan is get there and play second fiddle, unless we get there first!" Jex takes off, following his Digivice's signal, with an anxious following closely behind. It's not long before they reach the digital field. Badramon smells, then sees, a few others, ready to battle.
Jonas nods to Leormon, and says, "Time to suit up." His digivice glowed a tannish color, and began to shake violently. A beam shot out of it, coliding with his crest. The energy it caused rained down on Leormon, and he began digivolving. "Leormon digivolve to...LoaderLeomon!" he exclaimed, digivolving straight into his ultimate level.
Uryx, sitting in his easy chair, ruminating, figured Cat could handle whatever was going on. "About that, Kitty and I found an odd portal in the forest, like the kind dad had described, and we went through it to see what was up," Uryxia said, not really leaving her characteristic tone, despite the urge to tell it like she felt her sister would, "When we got there, we were in some sort of... place with lots of... stuff (Uryxia was having difficulty getting around using Kitty's words), and we met other people there that chased us back here, and, the digital world may be in danger." she finishes, feeling that a strange portal to another world could very well be dangerous.
Finally, the Digimon emerge. Not one, not two, but three Meramon! "Damn...Jex, look's like we gotta get a little more serious." Jex swipes a Digivolve card without a word, and Badramon swells into Dragodramon, who flexes his muscles as he readies for battle. One of the Meramon quickly waves, however. Dragodramon looks confused, but Jex is just curious. "You got something to say? Say it!"
The Marks of Reliability on both Squall and Griever flare brightly. The Coronamon then warps to his ultimate, Flaremon, as well.
"Digidestined, I'm so glad you got here so fast!" one of the flaming behemoths says in a crackling voice like fire. "We were sent by an Angemon to gather you. Both worlds may be in danger!"
LoaderLeomon was broken out of his battle glare, and he stared at them curiously. Jonas' jaw dropped. "FLAMINGDUDESAYWHAAAAAAAAAAAT?!"
Catherine gives her daughter a look that she's reserved only for giving lectures and the like, but finally nods her head. Abruptly, she turns around, and says, "Tell your father. Tell him to get his guns, if he's still got them. We'll all go back there together." -Portals don't just open up. Something's making them open. Something's happening, now,- she thinks as she drags the cellar door open and descends the staircase, pulling off her dress and pulling on her catsuit and chestguard in record time. Her fingers light around her rapier, her weapon of choice. She buckles it at her side and walks back up the stairs, hoping Uryx can be dragged out of his chair for the portal that they've waited all these years to see open.
After his initial shock Squall asks, "What is it?"
"There was an isolated attack on the Digital World recently, in the Northern Sea. A Whamon informed Angemon that it had been by an unknown entity not of our world. Immediately, the Digital World's leaders met, considering it a hostile action against us by Humans, but...the evidence went quickly against it. Ultimately, it was decided the attack originated from...the Internet." The Internet? What could possibly attack from the Internet? Dragodramon sits, looking a tad foolish at the same time. "I'm sorry," Jex says, "we were about to attack! Well, thanks for the info. What can we do?"
The moment Uryx had heard the news he instantly pulled his act together, -This may be my chance to see my friends again! I wonder what they've done with themselves after all these years!- He got the rifle he had used in a fight against a hoard of Knightmon, one given to him by Abyss, then he grabbed the unbound book he had been writing and carefully put it in a coat pocket. Uryxia just stood there as their parents went about preparing, "I don't think anything this... drastic, is necessary, just a few guards posted at the portal so no one can come through..."
Jonas almost laughed. ~and all this time I was sad I couldn't afford the internet. Carma much...~
Squall had heard all he needed. Griever abruptly devolved to Firamon and allowed Squall to mount. Soon the two were flying back to where they were moments ago: the portal.
The lead Meramon looks at Jex solemly. "Some of you must return to the Digital World with us. The rest must stay here, in case whatever attacked us threatens your world as well." Jex looks about the others. "I'll stay," he says. "Do any of you want to stay with me? The rest of you will probably be needed on the other side."
Catherine checks the pockets on the belts attached to her leather catsuit. "If the portals are reopening, that tends to mean that they're seeking Digidestined again, if I recall correctly," Catherine says to her daughter somewhat idly as she glances backwards towards the kitchen. "Wingdramon'll be outside. It'll be fastest to go with him," she says to Uryx as she pushes away some strands of red hair that had failed to be joined in her braid. "Uryxia, you can come if you want. Or you can run."
The Meramon to the right makes an odd motion. Suddenly, he bursts into data. "My friend will give all of you the ability to Biomerge in the Real World. Simply absorb part of his data." Dragodramon absorbs a bit without a word. "Thank you," Jex says, "His sacrifice wil be worth it, I promise." The lead Meramon again addresses the group, "Those who with to return, just follow us. Those who with to remain, go back to your lives, but be prepared for anything!"
Dragdramon devolves to Badramon and returns to the Digivice. Jex looks solemly at the Meramon, and turns to go back to town, knowing that the others will make their choices on their own.
Uryx preparing Wingdramon, "I may finally be going home again, it's been so long!" he half sings. Uryxia looks at her mother like she was crazy for even asking (or for reacting like this even, her mom was one of the least impulsive people she knew), "Of course I'm coming." Uryxia then goes to stand by her father, waiting for him to finish with Wingdramon.
Squall and Griever emerge from the portal and pause for a moment. -They should be close by...We're going to need them.-
Catherine assists Uryx in their preperation, glancing back over her shoulder towards her daughter. "On Wingdramon? Come on. It's -embarassing- to be seen with your parents!" Catherine retorts with a smile - Uryx's good mood has lifted her usually bland spirits.
Kitty sat up as Squall emerged from the portal. "HEY! YOU! YOU WITH THE FACE!" She strikes a pose. "Stop! Right there! Or I'll beat you black and blue! Which are my family's colours!" She's been planning this speech since Uryxia left. She punches her fist to her palm for good measure. -Drama's cool.-
Having no time to mess around, Squall aproached the girl. "I need to speak to your parents. Now!" says the VERY imposing man, "We're all in danger!"
Uryxia couldn't care less what her parents were doing, despite seriously overreacting to the whole matter, this wasn't TOO odd for them, -although mom isn't impulsive, dad is, and mom would follow dad anywhere,- "Whatever," is all Uryxia says, "not like it seems like I can't stop you two anyway, but seriously, don't you think we might need a LITTLE help?"
"We'll have help," Catherine says, somewhat stonily, as she raises her Digivice. "If we need it. Us four and Wingdramon. And some others, maybe." She narrows her gaze, not elaborating as she finally mounts Wingdramon, then offers a hand to her husband to assist him up.
"Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm," Kitty drawls stupidly. "You said that last time. The answer's no, fatso." -Heh. That rhymes!-
Squall, finally losing it lets lose a terrifying roar, his and Griever's link causing them to do so simutaniously.
Uryxia hops on as well, like her mother not needing any help. Uryx doesn't really need help either but accepts her assistance mounting Wingdramon anyway, it's something of a tradition and reminded him of old times. "Let's go," Uryx said to his wife.
"Was it something I said?" Kitty asks blandly as she pushes one of her legs backwards, bracing herself as she executes her human spirit evolution. "Tsearamon!" She declares as the light absorbs her, changing her to the falcon headed, war-scythe weaponed warrior.
Catherine pushes her feet against Wingdramon's side, bantering with her partner psychically. She appears somewhat detached as she glances down at her Digivice, locating her namesake daughter's signal, and guiding her companion in the proper course. It's not long til they land...
Fed up with the girl, Squall and Griever fly high into the sky.
"Aww man," Kitty whines. "I don't have wings in this form." Glumly, she sits on the ground, and becomes intensely interested in a rock. And then remembers Squall and Griever. How did they fly? She didn't know. That was awesome, though, she reflects as she climbs a tree, launching herself from branch to branch to follow him.
Uryx sees Squall instantly fly up in front of him, -Was that Squall?!- He gets off of Wingdramon and runs over to Kitty, "What happened?" he asked her from the ground. Uryxia is right behind Uryx and easily keeps pace with her father.
"He flew," Kitty says, descending the tree. "The man flew. Apparently. Um, Dad, why can't you fly?" She looks over to her mother, who has now dismounted and is leaning against Wingdramon, her arms crossed sternly.
"Kitty, I've told you before, I'm not a super hero, I can't fly," Uryx says for the millionth time. Uryxia shouts up to her sister, "Who was that? Was it the same guy from earlier?"
In his anger, Squall didn't see the large digimon fly past and land where he just was. He continued to soar looking for any sign of his friends.
"Yeah!" Kitty says as she de-evolves, her eyes on Uryx. "Everyone around the Digital World -thinks- you're a Super-Hero. What the masses think is -always- true! That's what mom always says!" She glances towards Catherine, who is trying, very hard, not to laugh. ~Wingdramon, see if you can telepathically contact that Digimon,~ she orders her companion, who sets about making a mental call for Squall's mostly silent partner.
Griever abruptly stopped. -I recognise this digimon.- the firamon responds to the call. He spins, mid air, heading for the portal.
Uryxia finds all this banter totally pointless and beast spirit evolves into Machinamon to give chase to the invader. Uryx just shakes his head and sighs at his daughter's naivet'e, then he sees Uryxia take off and starts to try to run after her, but finds it futile and just waits.
Wingdramon preens as Catherine continues leaning against his side, holding out her arms to stop Uryx as he starts to move. She relaxes as he stops. Kitty, however, has gone silent, disappointed in her father's disappointment in her. -He's so cool,- she thinks, quietly. -Why can't I be more like him? If what everyone says about him is true.-
A low humming can be heard in the air, like the sound of a thousand smoothly running machines...
Griever and Squall slow down seeing the aproaching machine digimon. "We should wait to see if its friendly. We may have a fight on our hands." Squall tells his digicompanion.
Uryxia crouches a little and leaps into the air with her two powerful mechanical limbs, she jumps straight for Squall and Griever, aiming to take them down.
The humming of two ion discharge engines can now be heard clearly, but it is not overwhelming... even though the humming can be felt through the ground, it is only slight, and hardly noticeable.
"That's that then!" says Squall as Griever moves to dodge. He engulfs himself in flames (their link protecting Squall) and tries to tackle the offending mon.
~We may want to stop her, Catherine,~ Wingdramon psychically confides in Catherine as he turns his massive draconic head to the air and grins at the machines. ~We won't. Uryxia needs to learn to control her impulses the hard way,~ comes Catherine's reply, her fingers alighting on the hilt of her sword as she -feels- the buzzing. Kitty, meanwhile, continues to stand by her father, thrusting her hands in her jacket's pockets as she rolls her eyes to gaze at the sky. "What's going on? Did Uryxia mess up bigtime?"
Suddenly, over the treeline, a massive shadow covers the sky, and the humming becomes much greater. All that can be seen in the sky, other than the undercarriage of whatever it was, were two massive ion drive engines, and a multitude of smaller ones, hovering in mid air.
Machinamon lands with a resounding THUD and quickly careens out of the way, "You're not welcome here, "Squall," if that is your real name," Uryxia launches herself at them again, this time aiming her shot so that if it hits, it would knock them through the portal, or at least close to it. Uryx looks on, trying to tell what's going on, but his eyesight wasn't so hot without his glasses, "I think Uryxia may be attacking an ally..." is all Uryx says, then he looks up as he sees a massive blur approaching.
The attack didn't send them through the portal, but near the others. As Griever readied his next attack both he and Squall see the giant 'thing' in the air.
"Shall we go break up their fighting?" Catherine offers - it's the same question that she's used on occasion to refer to her twins, although now all the amusement in her eyes is dead, and replaced with seriousness. Kitty looks at both her parents in confusion, her brow tightly knit. She then drags her eyes back to the sky, "Dad, why's there a massive ship in the sky? Is this like, some trippy reunion?"
Uryxia stops with the arrival of the flying ship and looks up at it. Uryx replies to Kitty, "Maybe..." then he looks over at what Uryxia had knocked nearby and squinted at it, "Squall? Is that you?"
Catherine glances up towards the sky finally, towards the massive airship. "Well," she boredly intones, "this is exciting. Uryx, if there's gunfire, we're in the perfect spot to get hit. Remember, a moving target's a hard target." Kitty waves up to her sister, "Come down, Urrie!"
"Uryx?" Squall knew there would be a change, but he wasn't expecting this much. He looked much the same but he was definitely older. He sees Catherine, too, who has equally aged.
"Catherine's right, we may need to move, we can talk about what we've been doing in the last 16 years later," he says to Squall, not noticing or hearing Jonas. Uryxia rushes over to her sister, remaining in Machinamon form, "He's not gone? What's going on?" Uryxia asks, keeping her bored tone, but with a hint of irritation.
Catherine advances to grab Uryx's hand. "Right. Come on - we can dodge fire on Wingdramon. Sq-," she pauses, forgetting Squall's name briefly. It has, after all, been 16 years, and she mostly ignored everyone back then. "Squall," she says, finally, "if you can fly, do so. Follow our co-ordinates. Girls, let's move out."
Uryxia still doesn't know what's going on, but decides to just go with it, obviously her parents did indeed know this bully. She reverts to her normal human form and gets onto Wingdramon. Uryx goes with Catherine without argument, remembering the good old days, -has it really been so long?-
Squall and Griever take to the air once again, following the others.
Catherine, meanwhile, leads Uryx back onto Wingdramon, assuming the pilot position. Kitty obediently follows, and Wingdramon leaps into the sky, turning towards the cabin/cottage and eventually landing in the small clearing.
