I've decided to start my own RP based in the world of Ivalice as shown to us by Square-Enix. This probably brings up a few questions such as which Ivalice this is, around what time period, and will there be some sort of supervillain (or hero in one case) bent on its conquest/destruction? To answer the first question, I wanted to leave things wide open to give the RPers themselves plenty of creative room; this means that this Ivalice can be any or all of the Ivalice's we've come to know and love from the Final Fantasy Tactics series and Final Fantasy XII. This answer is also for the second and third question, it's entirely up to the RPers what's going on in the world right now, whether you want the war between Rabanastre and Archadia to be going full force or if you'd prefer it be a time of uneasy peace just before the Lion War, that's fine too, or both (note, I do not think the Rabanastrian war and the Lion War are related, they're two separate examples for sake of illustration, do not be confused). In fact, you can have the events of all games based in Ivalice to be going on at once if you build it that way as well as any side events that have nothing to do with the games, the choice is yours. My goal is to have a totally free RP involving events orchestrated by everyone involved with minimum limitations. Of course, I understand that there of those of you out there not really willing to orchestrate anything and that's fine too, you can just sit back in the Sandsea and drink all day if you wish.
So, make your character (I won't even bother approving it, it's simply so everyone has something to refer to if necessary) and join in on the fun, Ivalice awaits!

Physical Description: Uryx has rather short, dark brown hair and eyes of the same color. His face looks like he doesn't shave very often, and when he does, he doesn't exactly do a very good job of it. It also looks like he doesn't bathe very often, but that might just be an illusion from the fact that he's out almost every day having "adventures" like some sort of child (much to the disdain of his mother and older sister). No matter what other clothes he's wearing or where he is, Uryx always has a light brown (with a distinctive tinge of green) coat hanging over his shoulders, though he almost never has his arms in the sleeves. His accent is Archadian, though not nearly as heavy as most others, probably because of his frequent visits to other places all over Ivalice.
Personal History: Uryx was born in Archades to Judy and Gawain Farrence about two years after his sister, Kitty (short for Kathleen), had been born. His father was a hunter and his mother a housewife, which led to Uryx forming more of a bond with his mother in his younger years. When he reached the appropriate age, Uryx was sent to boarding school where he performed slightly above average when he chose to apply himself, but more often than not, he would try to sneak out to explore the city and the surrounding area (always keeping his sandalwood chop hidden so as not to cause trouble with the less fortunates, his mother came from a rich family that still supported his own, in fact, the reason he was going to boarding school was at their behest). During his time at boarding school, Uryx's father went to hunt a mark never to return, but Uryx never really got to know his father and the news didn't really bother him too much. On a whim, Uryx decided to follow in his late father's footsteps and begin hunting marks himself armed with a gunblade of unknown origin, but has lately fallen into a slump, simply going out just to be out and not to fight anything dangerous. This probably isn't such a wise move on his part, considering his family only barely supports him as it is, but he doesn't really care, he'll figure something out if worse comes to worst.
Personality: Uryx is a fairly agreeable fellow at the best of times, but can get to be almost unbearable at his worst. Uryx is impulsive by nature and oftem acts upon whims, doing things simply because it seems like a good idea at the time. Surprisingly, this impulsiveness hasn't landed him into serious trouble in the past. He's very odd for an Archadian descended from aristocracy in that he cares little for status, although what friends he has tells him that when it comes to leadership skills, he'd give the emperor a run for his money (at this he simply shrugs and says "perhaps"). Uryx has an intense love for his mother, though this doesn't stop him from being himself and just following his whims anyway (much to her chagrin). Uryx's relationship with his sister is strained at best, she can have her rich husband and fancy life for all he cares, he wants none of it. Uryx is happiest when he's left to do as he likes.
Weapon of choice: A gunblade he calls "Catherine." The weapon's exact origins are unknown, but it does show a remarkable level of craftsmanship, meaning it was most likely wrought by moogle hands. The blade is somewhat scratched and tarnished, but it still works just as well as if it were new. The person the weapon is named after is unknown, though it may be a past sweetheart or something cliche'd like that.

One more thing, don't feel constrained to things only in the Ivalice universe, if you want races or things from other Final Fantasy games, that's fine too (such as the Lilty race or aeons). Physical Description: Somewhat tall, standing at 6', XIII is an odd character, with brown-auburn hair and ocean-blue eyes. Though similar in appearance to an Archadian or Rabanastran, XIII doesn't quite fit either type. He has a Rabanastran accent, however, and blends in very well in any crowd despite the foreign air about him. He wears loose black pants with red designs sewn into them, a black shirt with a red stripe to the left of his collar, going straight down, and an old, threadbare red coat with a pair of black bat wing designs, sewn into the coat, which appear relatively new compared to the coat itself. All of this appears worn, with small scratches and a few places the appear to have been resown, and poorly.
Personal History: Little is known of his past, as he either doesn't remember or refuses to tell. What IS known is that he isn't from any of the near countries, and he is searching for something that he feels is nearby.
Personality: His foreign aura and not-quite-there apparent origin make him seem somewhat unapproachable at first, but he is a friendly person by nature. His sense of duty is superseded only by his desire to reach his ultimate goal, and unless his life depends on it, he will sacrifice much to further his purposes. As a result, he can be very cold to someone when they get in his way.
Weapon of choice: A pair of simple daggers, very stiff in shape with sharp edges and square cuts, making them similar in appearance to Butterfly Swords, but slightly shorter and thicker in the middle, making them weighty and giving them better armor-piercing capabilities.

Good thing I've been on an FF binge of late (11 of 13 Espers, a good number of Marks including Gilgamesh, and a few nice items are now notches in my accomplishment belt with only limited walkthrough assistance, though I still managed to screw myself over by getting too wrapped up with fighting Gilgamesh to steal from him...so no Masamune/Genji Gloves death combo for me...:'( )
I'll have to send you my Gambit setup, see what you think.
Anyway, all that being said, plus my near-completion of FFT, means I've got a good knowledge base to bring to the table, and I have the chance to dust off XIII for a new adventure...thank goodness you've left this RP open beyond FF, or else I couldn't even use the toned-down version of XIII...

Physical Description: Quite short - 5'3", long semi-curly dark red hair, eyes that shift color slightly depending on current magic channeled, but normally settle at a dark amethyst.
Personal History: Born a noble child of House V'nashir in the Archadian Empire.
She showed a natural inborn talent for magic. However, power was not easily controlled, especially in times of great emotion. All education at the academy was unable to stop the flaw.
A professor, fed up with the unteachable child, struck her in anger. Azrae, reacting on instinct, lashed out with her magic, killing several teachers in a wave of fire.
She was expelled, and was promptly disowned as a reject from her family and though she was not officially banished, it was made quite clear that she was no longer welcome in Archades.
Eventually, she settled in Rabanastre.
Personality: Relatively stoic in life and actions. Aristocratic and confident in bearing. However, when losing control, does so spectacularly...

Personal History: Sayori had been an orphan ever since her parents had been killed by a roaming group of Bangaa when she was three. Her parents never felt that the Aegyl way of life was all that exciting so they had gone out to explore the world while leaving Sayori with her cousin Kenpachi. After her parents death Sayori decided she wanted to explore the world as well.
Personality: Sayori is very outgoing and she doesn't like it when she can't figure something out. She can be very serious but is usually smiling and thinking positively. Her favorite thing to do is explore and learn new things. She also has a thing for fish and any other kind of seafood.
Weapon of choice: A pair of long claws that fit over top of each hand, and she uses various types of kicks when she's in the air.

Physical Description: Denyre has short-cropped brown hair and tan, weathered skin. The only things significant about his appearance are his light-blue eyes which are glazed over from lack of use. He wears a brown hood and cloak studded with clear crystal facets that bend light at his will allowing him to become invisible (a helpful quality in his profession).
Personal History: One of Denyre's ancestors dabbled with dark magic resulting in his family line's elf-like aging process. It has also caused an innate ability to sense energy such as life or magic. As a child Denyre lived with his father who used his ability in his career: assassination. The blade-for-hire instilled in Denyre the belief that there is no good or evil, only life and death. He rationalized that he killed to live and taught Denyre the tricks of the trade. One day Denyre got a hold of one of his father's flash bombs and ,mimicking him, detonated it in a room. Only a child, Denyre neglected to turn away from the bright light and was permanently blinded. As the years passed Denyre's father became better and better at his skill and under took more dangerous missions until finally he never returned. Denyre now follows his father's footsteps and, in the right circles, is known as one of the most infamous killers of all time. The average person, however will see nothing but a blind man walking the streets. He has slain anyone he has been contracted to kill whether they be malevolent tyrants to lovable Kings as long as the price was right. He is also known to kill and only kill they specified targets.
Personality: Seemingly cold and is unbothered with any notion of good and evil. The only thing real to him is the next contract.
Weapon of choice:A "lightning" model gunblade he has named Raine. Also carries an assortment of concealed daggers, throwing knives, and poisons.

Personal History: Originally a Wolf from an average desert, he was captured by Draclau Laboratories, and experimented upon, in an effort to create an automoated, intelligent weapon of massive power. He escaped one day, killing many of the staff. His Nethricite powers run amouck in his body, as the substance has taken on a bio-organic nature, mutating him, and changing him. He traverses the world searching for a way to control the ravaging powers of the Nethricite infused within him.
Personality: Dark, foreboding, voice like a cool texan outlaw, minus the southern drawl.
Weapon of choice: One of his four stages, each more self-destructive than the last, but each more powerful than the previous.

Personal History: Originally her family lived on the road and worked as bards to make money and her older sister would take from whoever stopped to listen. Eventually that life-style ended when one of their customers was a berserker and caught them in the act. In a fit of rage it killed Darmyths father. Their family later settled down in a Clavatian village and her mother married a Clavat. Darmyths stepfather resented her refusal to adapt to a new way of life. Shoplifting what she could until a geomancer passed through the village on a quest. Having a drink nearby him as he rested at a bar she was drawn to a ruby ring on his pinkie finger. Later she stole it and was soon hunted out of the village as the geomancer tormented the villagers to try and get his stolen ring back. Living on the road once again she lives by the motto Take what you want will you can. Youll die tomorrow no matter what. Soon she found out that the stolen ring was a storage hold for quite a bit of t he geomancers power and it reacts of its own accord when it feels like it, this includes drawing her to large sources of power and telling her what to do. Carries her flute with her as a reminder of her childhood memories. She keeps 75% of the money she makes from various thefts and whatever small jobs she can get her hands onto and send 25% back to her family. Visits them when she can but is extremely afraid that the geomancer will find and kill her. Tries to stay moving on the road while she can on what money she has at the moment.
Personality: Darmyth has a very hostile personality. Shes forceful, self-confident, and irritable, shes of the most part shes impulsive except when it comes to talking. Pretends she doesn't have anything to hide but doesn't like people to know about her ring. Isnt extremely educated, but shes skilled at haggling, negotiating and theft. She loves rubies and almost anything valuable. She claims she won't mind killing anyone that gets in her way and prays that she will never have to reveil that she wouldn't be able to. Enjoys playing her flute when she's alone.
Weapon of choice: Leather whip. A few daggers up her sleeves and down her boots. Theres also a magic retaining ruby ring that wont come off.

Age: 17 in appearance, the artifact placed in him only a day after his death, freezing him in his biological age. He is truly 19 though.

Occupation: Jack of all trades (mostly bounties and helping people in whatever needs)
Physical Appearance: He is rather skinny for his height and his hair is normally a mess, as if he got out of a bed. He actually looks rather fresh for how long he has been dead, he has no rot or decay, although his body has been patched in many places. His left arm is sewn in three places, right blow the shoulder, half way through the bicep, and at the wrist. after the stitches halfway through the bicep the arm is slightly deformed. His left leg is stitched around once(amazingly) right below the knee, knee damage causing his limp. His right leg is sewn in two places, 1/3rd the way down the thigh, and about 4 inches above the ankle. If looked at closely, his two bottom canines are replacements, actually a bit larger then his tops. (He may gain more stitches and replacements, I will post minor in the rp, and post comments below him for major ones)
Usual Clothing: His usual attire consists of a tattered pair of jeans that cover down ovr his shoes, clearly they were larger then his legs when he got them. He also wears a blue t shirt, sewn back togeth in many places, matching his body closely, tattered and repaired. He wear thick black combat boots, he would rather his foot not fall off. He also wears a belt with two holsters and a large tattered book bag, with one large main pocket and a small one to the side. His shirt usually goes over his pants and belt, his pant legs usually go over his boots.
Weapons: A metal spike can emerge from his left hand, going out to 1 foot, used mainly for piercing. He uses two guns that look like [link] (Diclaimer: Not mine, owner on page.) He usually loads them with 12 guage rounds. Both in holsters on his belt.
Weakness(es): He is rather slow when he walks and has a slight limp in his left leg. He is also easily ripped apart where he is sewn, and some limbs are easily ripped off of him. This so far includes left arm and both legs. He can let out a loud moan at times when seeing someone, its the only zombie instinct that runs over his mind anymore. He does not heal, only can replace, a nick from a bullet on his skin will stay until area is replaced.
Items: He carries 5 spools of fishing line and one spool of iron thread, to sew on old or new limbs. He also carries a saw, for cutting limbs and such for him and making sure the lines sewn are straight. He also carries 120 unpacked 12 gauge shot gun shells, each 15 pellet shots. All of this is carried in a large, yet slightly worn back pack, the shells in the main pocket along with the saw, and the rest in the side pocket.
Skills: He has the ability to sew any limb back on or newly on if he opens a wound for the spot. His enhanced brain with the help of the wires can extend nerve systems and make new limbs fully functional within a week. Reattaching a limb, about 3 days, replacing limbs, about 5 days, and new limb in new place, the full week. Even though he walks slow he gets at a nice speed during battle. He also is a apprentice chemist being able to use potions, flash bombs, and smoke bombs.
History: He had lived in a kind town, only slightly mechanical, mostly farmers and farm hands, both of his parents farmhands, but his neighbor next door down was an engineering freak. The town had not often seen zombies, only ever seeing a few at a time. One night two years ago was one, the zombie had apparently got past the guards. Here is where it all started, the worst night of Stewart's life, it was the night he died, as well as his parents. Stewart woke in the middle of the night, at first thinking it was insomnia, but it was truly because there was something at his door, knocking lightly. His friend would do this sometimes when he needed a break from home, so Stewart woke in his boxers and walked to the door.He said to the being on the other side of the door, "Calm down Jake, I'm going to let you in." He did so, but the visitor wasn't Jake, it wasn't at all, it was what looked like a corpse, it latched onto Stewart and bit down onto his arm. Stewart shrieked in pain, slamming it into the wall, crushing its head, it apparently must have been old, but still he was bit, shit, he was bitten. He hid the wound as his parents rushed in, coming to his side after seeing the event, "Stewart, are you alright!?" They spotted the bite wounds but none of them knew how deadly that bite was. Stewart began to feel woozy as he said, "Yah, I'm fine, just not feeling so good." He fell onto the ground in a hot sweat and his parents quickly pulled him up, onto a couch. The mother brought him a clod cloth and the two took care of him worried. His body soon became cold and the mother began to cry. The father readied a gun, aiming at Stewart's head, ready to fire. Unfortunately for them at just that moment Stewart shot up and bit his wrist, then his neck, tearing his throat away, three bullets unloaded into the couch, one into his mothers hip. The mother tried to move away to near no avail as she crawled. Stewart's dead eyes caught her movement as he crawled to her, collapsing onto her and biting at her, it only took a few moment before he bit into her neck killing her. They were both then gruesomely consumed by the still moving Stewart. It wasn't even a minute from then before their neighbor, a good doctor arrived at the home, seeing what happened and closing the door quickly, telling the other neighbors to get away. The doctor told his wife to grab a few things for him, and she did. The doctor smiled as she brought him two pairs of hand cuffs and a small cage for the head. The doctor moved in, first putting the head cage around Stewart's head an then cuffed his wrists and ankles. It wasn't hard for the doctor at all, Stewart didn't move well due to a full stomach. The doctor then pulled the zombie Stewart out of the house and into a lab under his house. He opened up the back of his head and a few other spots, planting an ancient piece of equipment and few things of his own through his body, based at his brain. He then patched him up, the wounds he recovered that day were the last ones he would recover. Soon after the project he was himself, but he was crying on the table. After seeing the tears run down his face the doctor asked him, "What do you remember Stewart?" Stewart replied in a broken and weak voice as tears ran down the sides of his face, "Everything."

Extra Facts: He is afraid of the dark and kills every spider he sees. His body is not really alive, poisons and drugs do not work on him although physical bindings work very well.
